Scary Paper

I noticed a few days ago that kyleigh doesn't like the sound of crinkling paper. She shouts every time she hears it! We're trying to get her over this fear because i can't take her to the grocery store without her shouting out when they bag our groceries! Anyways, this is a video of her doing it when i was unwrapping decorations i bought for our house. scott caught it all and then we tried holding her to see if that would help her not be scared. not so much!

"Welcome to Tennessee...the patron state of shootin' stuff!"

New, new, new…this has been the story of our lives since my last post! After much prayer, Scott and I decided that we were going to move back to Jackson, TN! Jackson is where we met two years ago! I feel like we have move all over since we’ve been together! Jackson, Orlando, Kansas, and back to Jackson! Let’s just say we’ve become experts in the packing department! While we lived in Kansas we drove the 7 hours to Jackson quite a few times looking at houses! The 3rd week in June we looked at a beautiful, 3b/2b brick house that was built in Feb…it was perfect! We both fell in love with it. We decided to make our offer and prayed they wouldn’t accept unless this was the house for us! When they accepted our offer I was ecstatic!  We moved into our new home july 3rd! I feel so blessed to have a beautiful house and a place to call home for a WHILE!  Kyleigh has her own room and friends call our house the “open house!” We always have people over for dinner and LOVE it! I am really enjoying my new role as home making/hostess! Sometimes I get stressed about having the house perfect (I get that from my motherJ.) However, lately I’ve learned that people know we live here, so why should I try to make it look like no one does?!?

Kyleigh is an absolute doll!! She is the world’s best baby! She is so expressive and is becoming more independent everyday! Our living room is full of colorful toy and gadgets! Our latest addition is a jumperoo! She LOVES it! It sings a little ditty when she bounces and she can grab and spin everything on it now! I can’t believe how fast the time goes! Here’s the best part about her growing up…..She sleeps 12 HOURS A NIGHT!!! I’m now lying! SCHEDULING ROCKS!! She goes to bed at 8pm and doesn’t wake up till 8am! Every blue moon, she’ll wake up at 6 or 7 but still!! I LOVE IT! I’ve even got a video monitor so I can watch her put herself to sleep! I told you she was the best baby!  Well anyways, Scott and started school fulltime again(yay) and I’m waiting to hear if I got into the nursing program this Jan! Here are some cute pictures of our sweet sweet baby girl!

Two months old already!?!

               TWO MONTHS OLD!!

Where does the time go?!? During my pregnancy, I felt like time was CRAWLING...I could never seem to get the days to go by fast enough! It was the LONGEST 37 weeks of my life(so far.) Today, I feel like the days just fly! I'm feel a lot busier now that Kyleigh is here, yet some days I don't accomplish  anything! I can't believe she is already two months old! It has been the hardest, most rewarding two months of my life! I absolutely LOVE being a mother and I've been blessed with the most wonderful daughter in the world! She has just learned to smile and giggle a little. Scott, being the playful dad, figured out that she loves it when we stick our tongues out at her. She even does it back to us...yes, we are teaching our sweet little girl that it is ok to stick her tongue out at people! :) I couldn't stop laughing yesterday when i noticed Kyleigh sticking her tongue out at the animals on her mobile! I'm sure she was quite disappointed when they didn't play along!

She gets so excited when we stick our tongues out at her

                      Concentrating so hard

                     SUCCESS!!!
                                  "I did it mom!"

Recovery Report!

I finally saw my doctor this past thursday and I'm happy to report that my infection is gone!!! This is such an answer to prayer!!! I don't know what i would've done if they would have cut me open again! Since I'm almost FINALLY recovered Kyleigh and I are coming FLORIDA TOMORROW!!! Sadly scott has to work and won't be joining us for this trip! Other than missing my sweetheart...I'm so excited for kyleigh to meet all of you in fl!! I've told her all about you! :) My mom is beside herself with excitement! I asked her if she could take care of her one night while i'm home so i can sleep for more than 3 hours at a time and she happily agreed! YAY!!! :) I can't wait for Kyleigh to meet her great-great grandmother (Dede) and her great grandmother (nana)! Kyleigh is almost 6 weeks old and it's about time she met them! :) I miss all my family and friends and will be so excited to be reunited with them for a few days!

Please pray for my recovery!

On the afternoon of april 30, I started having some contractions. Nothing to be concerned about so you can imagine my surprise when my water broke at 6:45 p.m. Thankfully, scott and I have just walked in the door to our apartment from a trip to babies r' us. We called my doctor, finished packing our suitcase and left for the hospital. We hadn't had a chance to eat dinner and we were both starving. I knew i couldn't eat once i was in the hospital so we decided to stop for a quick bite. scott didn't want to take too long so he just stopped at a gas station for some snacks. I told him to just pick something for me. He went in and came out with 20 dollars worth of drinks and snacks!! this made me laugh! We obviously didn't think things through and by the time we got to the hospital my pants were SOAKED! I checked in at 8:45 and was only 3 cm dilated so we settled in for a long night. After a few laps around the hospital I was ready for the epidural and finally got it at 3 am! I was only 5 cm so they told us to try and get some sleep. At around 6 am my nurse and a few others woke me up to move me on my side. Apparently, Kyleigh's heart beat was dropping really low with each contraction and they thought she might be on the umbilical cord. This went on till about 7:15 and then the doctor on call came in to tell us that they were going to do a c-section. I was 7 cm and she was worried kyleigh was in too much distress. We were in the operating room 45 minutes later. weighing in at 6lbs. 13 oz and 18 in long... kyleigh kate wohlers was born at 8:11 am on may 1, 2009!! My recovery from the surgery has not been easy. After i left the hospital I developed an infection in my incision. My doctor put me on some antibiotic and i thought things were getting better. At my appt a week later my doc said that if i didn't get better soon she would have to open my incision up again and let it heal from the inside out. She said this is a painful operation and would prolong my recovery by 6 weeks!! I am asking you for your prayers right now! I can't imagine having to start all over again while having a newborn at home! I am on a new antibiotic and go see my doctor this thursday to find out what she is going to do. I know that the Lord is in control and His will is perfect! I greatly appreciate all who will and are already praying for me! I will keep you updated when i know more! I love you all!

Kyleigh Kate

I CANNOT believe that Kyleigh is 3 weeks old already!! She has grown SO much! When we left the hospital she was 6lbs 8oz and at her doctor's appt a week ago she was 7lbs 13oz! I think we're gonna have a little chub on our hands! She is getting stronger everyday! she can hold her head up and opening her eyes all the time now! She had her days and nights mixed up and was keeping us awake all night but i think she's almost got back to normal now. one time she slept for 4 HOURS in between feedings! What a nice treat for mommy and daddy! :) She poops at least 8 times a day so we are thankful that she LOVES her bath time! My family came and stayed with me for two weeks after she was born. My mom for the first (dad, jen, and jerre came for a few days while mom was here) and rachel for the second week. They were such life savers! My recovery has not been easy and i don't think scott and I would have survived without them for those first two weeks! I LOVEd having them here and miss them terribly! There is no doubt that Kyleigh will be the most spoiled girl in the world! Well, here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks!
                First Bath at home!
Rachel dressed her up like a boxer!
                       She LOVES aunt rae rae

I went to the bathroom after her feeding and came back to find this...PRICELESS!

Date Nights-Royals Game

Since our family is going to add a new member in a few weeks, scott and I have tradition that I absolutely love! Friday nights are our date nights! We developed a bucket list of some things the two of us wanted to do before kyleigh gets here. We went to Jackson, TN a few weekends ago. Scott wanted to do some fishing and I wanted to see some friends! This past friday we went to a Kansas City Royals game. They played the detroit Tigers and although it wasn't a close game we had a blast together!  We got stuck in traffic on the way there and didn't get to our seats till the bottom of the 3rd inning. Once we decided we wanted to get some ball park food we made our way to the crowded concession stand. It was dollar hot dogs, pepsi, and pizza night. We stood in line for about 30 mins and were about 5 people from the counter. Scott thought that it was already the bottom of the 7th inning so we decided that we would just forget the food cause we wanted to watch at least some of the game! We left the line and when we got back to our seats we realized it was only in the 4th inning! We both just laughed and decided that we didn't want to stand in line again. Needless to say we were STARVING when we left (I'm sure kyleigh was about to eat her umbilical cord) and made a wendy's stop on the way home. I had such a wonderful time and am so thankful for a husband who loves to take his 9 month pregnant wife out on dates!!

Empathy Belly!

We are taking a childbirth prep class to help "prep" us for all the excitement to come in the next few weeks. We've both learned a lot and have really had fun in the class! During one of the classes all the dads had to wear an "Empathy Belly" and try doing different things. All of us pregnant women really enjoyed watching our partners try to "get out of bed"...pick up a pen...tie their shoes ect. Hoping they would have a better understanding of what we feel and how hard it can be!! Here are some funny pics i snapped of scott during his 5 mins of pregnancy!

Too bad mine doesn't snap off!
                        Pregnant Pose
Trying to get comfy on the "bed"...where's that body pillow when you need it!?!
    Hahaha!

Chubby Cheeks!!

Here is the last picture we have of our sweet little angel! The Nurse said that she has chubby cheeks and you can see them in this pic! It's a pic of her face just in case you are having a hard time figuring out what you're looking at! :) Isn't she just precious!?! I can't wait to hold her in my arms! Less than 4 weeks to go!!!

I flew to FL for a week at the end of February. It was so good to see and spend time with my family and friends! While I was home some of the ladies at North Central threw a baby shower for me! It was so sweet of them and so much fun! I was worried about how I was going to get everything home but surprisingly I did!! My camera died during the shower so i only have a few pictures. Enjoy!

There were soooo many gift to open!
My Nana shared some encouraging words about motherhood! So sweet!
Some people didn't believe that was actually scott because he was so fat!
They did such a beautiful job at decorating and the food was DELICIOUS!

Kyleigh ???? Wohlers

I love names that have some sort of family or sentimental value. Because my mother's name is Kelly Leigh and mine is Katherine Leigh, I wanted to continue the "tradition" of a "K" and "Leigh." Kyleigh just fits...i think it's prefect! However, I'm having the hardest time picking a middle name. Right now, my top choices are a) Kate b) Elizabeth c)Grace. I'm just stuck! I need your help! Please feel free to suggest more options or vote for the three above.

chick-fil-yay!

The past few weeks have held some exciting change for us! Scott got a job! Yay! This has been a burden on us for a while since we needed to find something that offered medical benefits asap! On our way to kansas scott got a call to interview for a managers position at a local chick-fil-a in kansas. After a few interviews they offered him the job with full benefits! What a blessing! We would both like to go back and finish our degrees so we're not sure how long he'll be working there, but we are so so thankful that the Lord has taken care of us and know He always will! :) Scott is so cute! He has the funniest stories when he comes home from work. The other day he got to dress up as the cow!!! How fun!

More good news: We have been visiting a church up here (heartland) and absolutely love it! I had lunch with the director of the women's ministry last week to talk to her about ways for me to become more involved. She got me in contact with the leader of a small group of expecting and new mothers. I'm really looking forward to going to their next gathering! There's just something about being around other pregnant women when you're pregnant. We'll have lots to talk about! :) I am never out of questions! I want to be as prepared as i can for when Kyleigh comes!

Switching Roles!

So I've been trying to be a good wifey...do all the cooking and try and keep the apt clean as much as possible! Well, it came time to start cooking dinner tonight and scott said that he wanted to give me a break and made dinner all by himself and it was delicious! He made home-made potato soup! He got the recipe from one of the cookbooks we got as a wedding gift! It was so sweet of him to give me a break and kick me out of the kitchen for a night! What a wonderful hubby! I just love him!

He's wearing the apron Mrs. Katherine Cheshire made for me! :)

Six Months down!

So I can finally tell myself that I'm over half way there! I reached my 24th week a few days ago! My leg cramps have gone away for now and I've had more energy lately! I am hungry all the time! So far my cravings have been for: Pickles, strawberry milkshakes, Dr. Pepper, and oreos! Don't worry these have all been consumed separately...I haven't asked for pickles in my milkshake yet :) Scott is so great about everything! My hormones have been going crazy! This morning Scott put some of his clothes in the washing machine. He kindly asked me if i would stick them in the dryer while he was in the shower. Being the dutiful wife that i am, i gladly agreed and did so. After the dyer stopped scott got some clothes out and realized they weren't fully dry and needed a little bit longer. He found me in the kitchen(big surprise) and simply wanted to inform me that the clothes don't fully dry unless on the "very dry" cycle. For some reason I was "extra extra" sensitive and took his advice as a blow to my domestic abilities! Then came the "water works!" I couldn't make the tears stop! I knew that scott was not attacking me at all but just the comment about how i put it on the wrong cycle made the tears surface! I was so embarrassed that more tears started flowing! I finally got control of myself and scott and I started busting out laughing! We laughed so hard! I am not a tearful person...it takes a lot for me to cry! Not lately! I cry at the drop of a hat! Scott is so great about being sensitive to that and helping me laugh at myself! He's so great!

Here's a pic of my belly! Kyleigh is so so active! I felt her kick for the first time right before christmas...now I can hardly go an few hours without feeling her! It's so cool to watch my belly jump when she kicks it hard! Athlete!?! Hope so!!

Sunny Saturday!

Well, it snowed yesterday and temperatures dropped to 9 degrees. However, we woke up this morning to warmer temps and a bright sun melting it all away :(
This is the outside of our apartment building with all the melting snow :(

The weather channel predicts that we are going to get some more snow this week. I love the snow! I want it to snow as much as possible!

Here are some pictures of our new apt in Kansas. Please keep in mind that I'm still in the process of decorating. As you'll see, I've got a lot of wall space to fill! I decided not to paint since we're only going to be here for 6 months...so beware of the white!

Our tiny Dining room. Scott's parents gave us this kitchen table(what a blessing!) we just need to pick up the rest of the chairs! The window ceil in the background is currently a storage shelf until i figure out where to put those things.

                                                  Our Little Kitchen
                                                                        Living Room
We got a wii as a wedding gift...we play it all the time...scott is enjoying wii football

Our new Bedroom suit. I have a lot to do all over our apt but I thought you (esp you mom) would enjoy seeing some pictures. Decorating is not my forte but it will keep me busy for a while till we make some good friends here. Please feel free to make suggestions...I need to add color in a cheap way so if you know of any don't hesitate to tell me!

Bloggers Bug

Well, I've finally given into the bloggers bug! I have always enjoyed surfing the blogs of people I know, reading post and looking at pictures! My circumstances now allow me to create one and hopefully(fingers-crossed) keep it updated! Since I'm now 20 hours away from all my family, I'm not much of a phone talker and Scott is working now, I hope this will be a good way to keep everyone updated on us through Wohlers World (yeah we've even got the appropriate rhyming title to our blog...you know you like it.) I'll probably put some pictures up soon of our new home once I: a.) finish unpacking  b.) find my camera  c.) figure out how to post pictures!
